Fee Assistance at London Independent Schools

The London Fee Assistance Consortium (LFAC) is comprised of both single-sex and co-educational independent schools and currently consists of 31 members across London who all offer free and subsidised places to able children whose families may not be able to afford the fees.

LFAC has existed for well over a decade and has an ongoing ambition to inform as many families as possible of the financial support they could receive for their child, and to encourage increased numbers of applications to member schools.

David Goodhew, Head of Latymer Upper School, and also the Chair of the London Fee Assistance Consortium, has said, “There can be a view that independent schools are not an option unless you are posh or wealthy, but this is false and prevents lots of families from even considering applying, to the detriment of their children who could benefit from all that our schools have to offer.

I would encourage all parents to take a look at our member schools, visit their websites and attend one of the relevant open events held each year. If you choose to apply you will be asked if you want to be assessed for fee assistance. It really is that simple.”
